  • What is the objective of the program “Two Year Bridge Symposium”?
    • The objective is to provide accounting content, community, and professional resources for two-year college students who identify as racially and ethnically diverse as they contemplate their education pathways and potential careers in the accounting profession.
  • When does the program takes place?
    • The program takes place in person on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Deloitte and PwC offices, in 14 cities around the United States.

  • What topics will be covered during the program?
    • Opportunities in the accounting profession.
    • Transitioning to four-year institutions.
    • CPA exam and licensure planning.
    • Scholarships and professional resources.
  • Who is eligible to apply?
    • Two-year college students, who identify as underserved and underrepresented, interested in education pathways and potential careers in the accounting profession.
    • 18 years and older.

  • Where can I find the application?

               

  • What are the program’s eligibility requirements?
    • Must be 18 years old or older.
    • Preference is given to two-year college student that are a underserved and underrepresented (i.e., Black or African American, Hispanic or Latinx, Native American, or Asian American and Pacific Islander).
    • Have taken or are currently enrolled in a Financial/Fundamentals/Introductory Accounting course.
    • Have taken or currently enrolled in at least six credit hours at your two-year institution.
    • Are able and willing to travel to your assigned Symposium location and participate in the entire program.
    • Submit a 100-200 word essay.

 

  • How long will it take to receive the results of my application?
    • Up to one month following an application being submitted.
  • Are there any fees associated with the program?
    • The program is free to participants.

 

  •  What kind of support will participants receive during the program?
    • A (virtual/physical) gift card of $50.00 will be given out for related expenses for all participants.
    • Participants whose homes are over 200 miles from the closest office will have travel arrangements (air or train, hotel) made for them.  Participants do not pay for this travel.

    • Once selected, participants will receive timely updates on program news and events via email.
